Indian cricket team.

Sachin Tendulkar, the top run scorer in the ODI format
A One Day International is a form of limited overs cricket, in which each team get to Bowl and Bat each for 50 overs. An ODI is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having ODI status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.[1] India is a full member of International Cricket Council and has a permanent ODI status.[2] India played its first ODI in 1974; since then a total of 195 players have represented the team. Since 1974 India has played 822 ODIs, resulting in 405 victories, 371 defeats, 6 ties and 35 no results.[3] ≃India registered their first series victory against England in a 3-match series by 2–1 in 1981.[4] India won the Cricket world cup twice in 1983 and 2011 and was runner-up in 2003. India won the ICC Champions Trophy in the year 2013 and had earlier shared once with Sri Lanka in 2002 because rain washed out the attempt to complete the final twice . India was also runner-up in 2000 against New Zealand.[5] India won the Asia Cup a total of five times in 1984, 1988, 1990, 1995 and 2010.[6]
Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest debutant at the age of 16 years and 238 days[7] and Farokh Engineer is the oldest debutant at the age of 36 years and 138 days.[8] Anil Kumble is the leading wicket taker with 337 wickets to his name,[9] and Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run scorer with 18426 runs to his name from 452 innings at an average of 44.83.[10] Currently, Tendulkar holds the record for playing the most number of ODI matches with 463.[11] He also holds the world record for maximum number of Man of the Match titles.[12] In ODIs, 418/5 is the highest runs scored by India in an innings.[13][14] India's lowest total in an innings while batting is 54 runs.[15] Currently, Virender Sehwag's score of 219 against West Indies in December 2011 is the highest number of runs scored by any player in an ODI.[16]
